Ambati Rayudu, who had retired from the IPL after the 2023 edition, took to his social media handles to clarify the situation. He released a statement saying he was not on commentary duties on the day of the match. Instead, he was at his farm picking mangoes. He urged everyone to be responsible when writing something and not to spread nonsense.

CSK lose the momentum

Ruturaj Gaikwad led Super Kings began their journey in IPL 2024 with a couple of resounding wins over Faf du Plessis’ RCB and Shubman Gill’s GT. But since then, they have had their fair share of ups and downs. After their loss to the Super Giants, the defending champions slipped out of the top 4. Having won 4 out of 8 games with a net run rate of +0.415, CSK are placed fifth in the table.
