The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has been a rollercoaster ride for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Despite a challenging season, RCB’s head coach, Andy Flower, has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to reach the playoffs.

RCB is currently at the bottom of the points table with only two points and a poor Net Run Rate. However, Flower emphasized that the team believes they can make it to the playoffs. He stated that the team needs to treat every upcoming game as a knockout. They need to win all their next six matches to reach 14 points at the very least.

Andy Flower backs bowling unit to come good in the remaining games

Andy Flower spoke ahead of their home game against GT, expressing that the team is doing everything it can to win games. RCB has won back-to-back games against SRH and GT and will hope to make that a hat trick. The team has struggled for momentum throughout the season and has finally come of age in the second half of the tournament.

“Our playoff hopes are still alive and that’s a brilliant position to be in. Obviously, we would have liked to be in a much closer position than we are but the hope and chances are still there. And we are still believing,” Andy Flower said in the video

Andy Flower lauded his bowling unit and said that they have attacked the opposition without fear in their last three games. He also stated that their batsmen are looking forward to batting in the middle. Despite the challenging position, Flower expressed that the team’s playoff hopes are still alive.

“Our batsmen will definitely be looking forward to batting in the middle. I have noticed is that our fast bowling unit has been really attacking in nature and I would like to see that once again,” he further added.

However, RCB’s qualification for the playoffs is not just dependent on their performance. They also need other teams to perform in certain ways. For instance, PBKS cannot win more than four out of their remaining six league games. Similarly, DC and MI should win no more than three of their remaining six league games. CSK and GT should win no more than two of their remaining six league games. Lastly, LSG should win no more than one of their remaining six league games.
