WI vs IND 3rd ODI Review: India clean sweep West Indies with a 119-run win in a rain-marred affair

India registered a huge 119-run win by DLS method against West Indies in the 3rd ODI is set to take place at the Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday, July 27.

India had won the toss and elected to bat. The Men in Blue made one change heading into the match as Prasidh Krishna replaced Avesh Khan.

The away team were 225 for three in 36 overs before rain stopped play for the second time in the match. Shubman Gill was batting unbeaten on 98 while Sanju Samson had joined him in the middle after India lost quick wickets. At one point, India were 115 for one in 24 overs before rain interrupted the proceedings. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill had hit fifties to take the visitors past the 100-run mark.

However, Hayden Walsh Jr ended the partnership, dismissing Dhawan on 58. Iyer fell short of six runs for a half-century while Suryakumar Yadav scored a mere 8 before getting dismissed by Walsh Jr. as well. India were forced to end the innings at 225 at the expense of three wickets.

West Indies were set a revised target of 257 in 35 overs. The visitors got the early breakthrough as speedster Mohammed Siraj picked up a couple of wickets. He castled Kyle Myers and dismissed Sharmarh Brooks, both for a duck.

The Indian bowlers ran through the batting line-up of the home team as they were bowled out for 137. Yuzvendra Chahal returned with four wickets while Shardul Thakur and Siraj bagged a couple of wickets each. Axar Patel and Prasidh Krishna also bagged a wicket each as the Men in Blue rattled Windies in the ODI series.
