West Indies are set to host India for a three-match ODI series and the 3rd ODI is set to take place at the Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday, July 27.

West Indies:

West Indies suffered a 3-run loss against India in the opening clash. Jason Holder’s absence did have a big toll in the first ODI. While in the 2nd ODI, despite performing well, West Indies were quite disappointed after not being able to finish off games. They had enough chances in the match. Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope have performed quite well at the top of the order while Gudakesh Motie is likely to return to the XI in place of Hayden Walsh Jr. who looked in complete confusion in the last match.

On the other hand, India headed into this series with a second-string squad, and the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah are few of the absentees. However, there are few players like Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who would be brimming with confidence after sealing the series.

The visitors are without their permanent captain Rohit Sharma and in his absence Shikhar Dhawan is leading the visiting team. India had an all-round batting effort that helped them seal the series in the 2nd ODI. Important contributions came from Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson as Axar Patel had kept India alive in the run chase of 312 runs. He finished the innings with a stupendous 64* and led the Men in Blue to an incredible victory.

The two games so far at the venue have been quite high-scoring ones. The wrist spinners were taken to the cleaners in the previous game and it will be important to have wickets in the bank so that the death overs could be capitalized. The skipper winning the toss is likely to bowl first as chasing looks the easier option. Given the recent triumphs, the Men in Blue are likely to get away with a win.

Prediction: India to win
