West Indies are set to host India for a five-match T20I series and the 1st T20I is set to take place at the at the Brian Lara Stadium Tarouba in Trinidad on Friday, July 29.

West Indies suffered a disappointing whitewash in the ODI series. West Indies suffered a 3-run loss against India in the opening clash. Jason Holder’s absence did have a big toll in the first ODI. While in the 2nd ODI, despite performing well, West Indies were quite disappointed after not being able to finish off games. They had enough chances in the match. On the other hand, India headed into the ODI series with a second-string squad, and the likes of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah were few of the absentees. However, there were few players like Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who were brimming with confidence after ODI series win.

The visitors will have a major boost as Rohit Sharma will now be back in action to lead the Men in Blue from the front. They were without their permanent captain in the ODI series and in his absence Shikhar Dhawan was leading the visiting team. India had an all-round batting effort that helped them seal the series in the 2nd ODI. In a rain-marred final clash, the Men In Blue managed to get the win and clean swept Windies.
