I have given my best: Virat Kohli

After the game, Virat Kohli opened up on his captaincy and revealed that he gave everything to the franchise and will continue to do it as a player. He has tried to give freedom to youngsters.

“I have tried my best to create a culture here where youngsters could come in and play with freedom and belief. It is something I have done with India as well. I have given my best. I don’t know how the response has been, but I have given 120% to this franchise every time, which is something I will now do as a player.”

Virat was asked whether he would be staying in RCB. The former RCB skipper replied that he doesn’t see himself playing anywhere else.

“Yes definitely, I don’t see myself playing anywhere else. Loyalty matters more to me than worldly pleasures. I would be in the RCB till the last day I play in the IPL.”

Virat Kohli credits Shakib, Varun and Narine for turning the game

Sunil Narine was out-rightly the difference between the two teams. The veteran all-rounder from the Caribbean first took four big wickets of Bharat, Kohli, Maxwell and AB and then played a quickfire cameo. He smashed 22 runs in Dan Christian’s over and turned the game in KKR’s favor. Kohli felt that spin trio of Shakib, Varun and Narine bowled tight lines and stopped the run flow for them.

“That one big over [22 runs] in the middle deflated our chances. Sunil Narine has always been a quality bowler and today he once again showed it. Shakib, Varun and him created pressure and didn’t allow our batsmen to get away in the middle.”

Now KKR will play Delhi Capitals at the same venue on Wednesday in Qualifier 2. KKR will be the firm favorites as they are currently on a hot streak. They are unbeaten in Sharjah and have previously defeated DC at the same venue. Plus, DC have lost all momentum as they have lost two matches in a row.

KKR have the most complete spin attack, whereas DC’s batting looks fragile. DC batsmen have struggled against spin throughout the campaign. KKR’s also bat deep and with the addition of Shakib on these surfaces, they have become even more deadly. Hence, KKR have a golden opportunity to book a place in the finals.
