Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India is facing Leicestershire in a four-day warm-up fixture. Since it’s a warm-up game, the fixture isn’t awarded first-class status and all the players can be part of the game. India’s Prasidh Krishna, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah are playing for Leicestershire.

During the game, Virat Kohli grabbed the limelight after he seemingly tried to imitate Joe Root‘s bat-balancing skill. The former India captain tried to keep the bat still for a while but couldn’t pull it off.

India vs Leicestershire: Virat Kohli Questions Umpire After Getting Dismissed In Warm-Up Game - Watch | Cricket News

Talking about the warm-up game, former skipper Virat Kohli looked solid during his stay in the middle but couldn’t convert his start into a big one. Virat Kohli was dismissed for 33 in a controversial manner where he was clearly unhappy with the umpire’s decision.

India opted to bat after winning the toss. After a positive start, the visitor’s innings got derailed as Shubman Gill (21) and Rohit (25) departed quickly. Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer also struggled and were dismissed for 3 and 0, respectively. Interestingly, Prasidh dismissed Iyer right after getting some advice from Kohli.

Much relied on Kohli after India’s struggles in the first session but he failed to convert his start into a big one. KS Bharat has showcased his skills with the bat and has breached the 50-run mark. He is joined by Umesh Yadav. For Leicestershire, Roman Walker has been the pick of the bowlers and has taken a five-for. He is uncapped in first-class cricket and his five-wicket haul won’t be added to his tally since it’s a warm-up game. Bumrah is yet to take a wicket while Prasidh has dismissed one batsman so far.
