Ross Taylor has undoubtedly been one of the finest players to step onto the cricket field. He is currently in his last hurrah in international cricket as Taylor announced on December 30, 2021, that the series against Bangladesh would be his last in the Test whites before bowing out in the ODIs against Australia and Netherlands later this summer. However, before bowing out of international cricket, Taylor completed a milestone that only one other Kiwi has achieved in the past.

Ross Taylor equals Daniel Vettori’s record of most tests for New Zealand
Ross Taylor is currently playing his 112th Test match for the BlackCaps at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch, and as a result, he has equaled Vettori to become New Zealand’s most-capped Test cricketer. The legendary left-arm spinner and former New Zealand captain had also played 112 Tests before retiring from the game. The ongoing Test between New Zealand and Bangladesh is Ross Taylor’s last in the longest format
With the completion of the second test, Ross Taylor will end a 16-year-old international career. Taylor also holds the record for playing every ICC tournament for New Zealand since 2007. He eventually missed the 2021 T20 World Cup played in UAE. However, he ended his ICC tournament participation on a high after winning the inaugural ICC World Test Championship in 2021.
