Faf has already stressed that it will be a collaborative approach and that the energy of Virat Kohli will be crucial to their progress. RCB have a great set of players with leadership experience that will hold them in good stead. The likes of Glenn Maxwell and new recruit Dinesh Karthik and Kohli are expected to work closely with du Plessis.

Virat Kohli recently spoke about Faf in a video posted on the official YouTube channel of RCB. Kohli said: “I am absolutely ready. I messaged him as soon as he was picked by RCB. Sounded him a little bit on what’s to come. I knew getting Faf in the auction, the plan was very clear. We needed a leader who commands a lot of respect in the dressing room. He has been a Test captain; the profile comes with a lot of accolades already. Absolutely excited for him to lead RCB this year, we get along really well.”
