Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya has been in the spotlight in the ongoing Indian Premier League(IPL), not just for his on-field performances, but also for the crowd’s reaction towards him. Despite the mixed reactions from the crowd, Pandya remains unfazed and focused on his game, according to his teammate Piyush Chawla.

Hardik Pandya’s journey as the MI captain began with a hostile reception from the crowd during matches in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. The transition in leadership from Rohit Sharma to Pandya stirred mixed reactions among fans, resulting in vocal disapproval directed towards the new skipper. Despite this, Pandya’s focus remains undeterred.

Chawla, during a pre-match press conference, stated that the crowd’s response was something beyond their control. He emphasized that Pandya is just focusing on the game and is not worried about what the crowd is doing. Chawla believes that once they get a win under their belt, things will be totally different.

“Well, that you can’t really help because you know, they are a crowd and whatever they are doing is beyond our control so we can’t really say what they are doing,” Chawla said.

“We just have to focus on our game and whatever they are doing, let them do. We just have to focus on our cricket,” he said.

Trent Boult, former teammate of Hardik Pandya, echoed Chawla’s sentiments. He expressed his unwavering support for Pandya and emphasized the importance of remaining focused and resilient amidst the “white noise” generated by the crowd’s booing. Boult is confident that Pandya, being a professional sportsman, can put aside the crowd’s reaction and concentrate on his job.
