Nitish Kumar Reddy is hungry for more success of SRH in IPL 2024

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and make a mark in the cricketing world. In the 2024 edition of the IPL, one such rising star is Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has impressed with his all-round performance against Punjab Kings on Tuesday.

Who is Nitish Kumar Reddy? The break-out star of SRH

Born on May 26, 2003, in Visakhapatnam, Nitish Reddy is a right-handed batting all-rounder who plays domestic cricket for Andhra Pradesh. He made his first-class debut against Kerala during a Ranji Trophy match in January 2020. In only his second first-class game that year, Nitish took a five-wicket haul against Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy.

Nitish Reddy was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for his base price of Rs 20 lakh at the IPL 2023 player auction. He made his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 18, 2023.

In the 2024 IPL, Nitish Reddy has been a revelation. Coming into bat as early as the fourth over in a match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Nitish scored a match-winning 64 off just 37 balls, powering SRH to a total of 182/9. His innings, which included 4 boundaries and 5 sixes, revealed his character to perform under pressure.

Nitish’s performance was not limited to his batting. He also picked up a wicket, showcasing his all-round abilities. His performance played a pivotal role in SRH’s narrow 2-run victory over PBKS.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s performance in IPL 2024 has earned him praise from former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ambati Rayudu, who highlighted Nitish’s pivotal role in SRH’s victory.

Despite his success, Nitish Kumar Reddy remains hungry for more. He expressed his desire to continue contributing to SRH’s success in IPL 2024 with his all-round ability. He said, “I just want to continue this performance for my team, with the bat, with the ball and in the field. I just want to be like this”.
