Mayank Yadav, a promising young pacer, had to leave the field mid-game during LSG’s clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) due to an apparent injury. He could only bowl one over before walking off the field. This incident raised concerns among the team and fans, as Yadav has been a standout performer in the tournament, recording the season’s fastest delivery at 156.7 kmph.

“Mayank Yadav is okay to continue in future matches,” says Krunal Pandya

However, Krunal Pandya, who picked three wickets in the game, has offered some reassurance. He shared that he had a quick talk with Mayank and it seems like he is okay. Although Krunal stressed that he doesn’t know what exactly happened to the speedster, his words have brought some relief to the LSG team and their fanbase.

“I don’t know what exactly happened to Mayank Yadav, but I had a couple of seconds with him. So, I think he is okay to continue in future matches. That is positive news for us. He was bowling well in the nets earlier and last season before missing the tournament due to an injury. Whatever conversation I have had, whatever we see, he has a good head on his shoulder. Really excited to see how his career pans out,” Krunal said.

Despite Mayank Yadav’s absence, LSG clinched an emphatic victory over Gujarat by 33 runs. The match saw Yash Thakur clinch the first five-wicket haul of IPL 2024, showcasing how he filled up the absence of Mayank in the LSG bowling unit.

The news of Yadav’s potential return will be taken on a positive note by both the LSG team and their fanbase, who have found a crowd-favourite in Yadav due to his pace prowess shown so far in the tournament. LSG will be hoping for a quick comeback from Yadav, more specifically before their highly anticipated clash against DC on April 12.
