Team India vice-captain KL Rahul has said that the team is very excited to play against their arch-rivals in their opening encounter of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup. Rahul also said that the Indian players look forward to the contest as both the teams do not play each other in any bilateral series and only face each other during big events. Notably, both teams played against each other in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in UAE, where Pakistan handed a 10-wicket defeat to India break.

“We are all very excited. As players and as an Indian team, we look forward to this India-Pakistan clash as we don’t play each other anywhere else but in these big tournaments. It’s always an exciting time and a great challenge to compete against a good team like Pakistan,” said KL Rahul during a press conference.
