The Indian team find themselves in a spot of bother as their full-time captain Rohit Sharma is almost ruled out of the fifth test due to Covid. The Indian skipper had tested positive on 25th June during the warm-up game and hasn’t tested negative since.

Rohit and Rahul’s absence has given the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) a major headache. Team India, on the tour of England, is still scratching its head to find a capable replacement for the 30-year-old at the top of the batting order for the Edgbaston Test.

Both the batters played a crucial role in India’s impressive show as they provided the team with a great start on almost all occasions. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah will likely lead the Indian team in their absence and is set to become the first Indian pacer to lead the side in Tests in over three decades.
