Rajasthan spinner Yuzvendra Chahal feels that dismissing Virat Kohli early will put RCB under a heap of pressure in their upcoming clash in the Indian Premier League. Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Chahal was asked about the team’s plans against the legendary India batter, and the spinner had some high praise about his former RCB teammate.

Chahal called Virat Kohli as the greatest batter of all time and said that Kohli’s wicket will have RCB reeling under pressure.

Rajasthan plays Bengaluru in their third home game of the season. RR have won three back-to-back games in the tournament and a fourth win will see them go to the top of the IPL 2024 points table. Rajasthan has impressed with both bat and ball so far. Trent Boult, Nandre Burger and Riyan Parag are some of the players from Rajasthan who have impressed massively so far and are expected to do well in the match against RCB.

Bengaluru on the other hand, have not had a good time in the Indian Premier League so far. The Faf du Plessis-led franchise has lost three out of their first four game and totter at the No. 8 position in the points table. Barring Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat and Mahipal Lomror, the RCB batting unit has not quite clicked yet and the bowling attack has also been criticised for their lack of firepower.

Yuzvendra Chahal addresses Virat Kohli as G.O.A.T

“In the match, RCB will be under pressure if we can get the greatest ever Virat Kohli out early,” Chahal said in the pre-match press conference.

Chahal, a seasoned spinner, has been in excellent form in the tournament, taking six wickets in three matches. He believes that dismissing Kohli early will put RCB under significant pressure. This strategy stems from the fact that Kohli has been the only consistent performer in the RCB batting line-up, which has otherwise struggled in the tournament.

Kohli, often referred to as the ‘GOAT’ (Greatest of All Time), has scored 203 runs in four matches, holding the Orange Cap for the highest run-scorer in IPL 2024. His dismissal could potentially expose the vulnerabilities in the RCB batting order, which has not clicked yet, barring a few exceptions.
