The match was scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, incessant lightning followed by a drizzle that gradually intensified resulted in the match being abandoned. The cut-off time for a five-over contest was 10:56 PM, but the officials decided to call off the match due to the consistently intensifying rain and wet outfield.
