Wanindu Hasaranga showcase an astounding performance with the ball as he registered a fifer against SunRisers Hyderabad(SRH) in the 54th match of the Indian Premier League(IPL) in the first clash of the doubleheader on Sunday, May 8 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat first. The middle order star Dinesh Karthik led RCB to tally 25 runs in the last over to guide the team to a total of 192/3 in 20 overs. Faf remained unbeaten on 73 while Glenn Maxwell also played his part and made a solid 33 runs off 23 balls.
Faf Du Plessis scored a brilliant fifty and partnered well with Rajat Patidar after spinner Jagadeesha Suchith dismissed Virat Kohli on the first ball of the match as RCB are dealt a huge blow. Patidar missed out on a well-deserved fifty and was out for 48 runs.
The Leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga bowled brilliantly as he claimed five wickets against SRH to derail their run-chase. Despite losing early wickets, batter Rahul Tripathi hit a flawless fifty and kept SRH in the run chase of 193 runs. SRH had dealt with two early blows in the first over the run-chase itself.
After skipper Kane Williamson departed to a run-out, Abhishek Sharma was removed by Glenn Maxwell. However, Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi brought some stability with a crucial partnership. But, the former departed soon for 21 runs while Pooran could not remain at the crease and fell prey to the stand out performer, Wanindu Hasaranga.
