Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) star batter Dinesh Karthik once again rose to the occasion and helped his side pick up a 16-run win against Delhi Capitals(DC) in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League(IPL) in the second clash of the doubleheader on Saturday, April 16 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Heading into the match Harshal Patel made his return to the Royal Challengers Bangalore playing XI, while Mitchell Marsh made his debut for Delhi Capitals. DC captain Rishabh Pant had won the toss and invited RCB to bat first.
Wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been a star player for RCB and he once again came up with a brilliant batting display in the match. Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten on 66 off 34 balls while Glenn Maxwell slammed 55 (in 34 balls). He showed some great aggression to rebuild the RCB innings amid the regular wickets. The top-order miserably collapsed but RCB eventually managed to get to a respectable score.
Anuj Rawat, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli fell early in the game. Shahbaz Ahmed also remained unbeaten on 32 as RCB finished on a defendable 189 runs at the expense of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Delhi Capitals bowlers Shardul Thakur, Khaleel Ahmed, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav finished with a wicket each.
Chasing a total of 190 runs, Delhi Capitals made a strong start in the game. David Warner gave DC a solid start (66 off 38 balls), but Mitchell Marsh’s toiled hard (14 off 24 balls) as it hampered DC’s run-scoring in the chase. Rishabh Pant (34 off 18 balls) also tried to revive the Capitals’ chase but his dismissal ended the side’s hopes for a comeback. Josh Hazlewood took three for 28 while Mohammed Siraj also returned figures of two for 31.
