SunRisers Hyderabad’s(SRH) Rahul Tripathi helped his side propel to a win by 7 wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) in the 25th match in the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2022 on Friday, April 15 at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

SunRisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson had confirmed at the toss that Jagadeesha Suchith had replaced the injured Washington Sundar in their playing XI. KKR, on the other hand, made three changes with Aaron Finch, Aman Khan, Sheldon Jackson replacing Sam Billings, Ajinkya Rahane and Rasikh Salam. Williamson invited KKR to bat after winning the toss.
Andre Russell and Nitish Rana had helped Kolkata tally a competitive 176/8 on the board. Marco Jansen removed Aaron Finch (7) before Natarajan struck twice in the same over to pluck the wickets of Venkatesh Iyer (6) and Sunil Narine (6), leaving Kolkata striving at 31/3. Umran Malik affected further damage by removing Shreyas Iyer and Sheldon Jackson as Kolkata slumped to 103/5. Nitish Rana then notched up his first fifty of the season and Andre Russell hammered an unbeaten 49 off 25 balls, helping Kolkata reach a decent score in 20 overs.
It was Rahul Tripathi who emerged with a stupendous knock of 71 runs off 37 balls and Aiden Markram scored an unbeaten 68 from 36 deliveries to help Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets. The 2016 IPL winners lost Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma early but Tripathi kept them on track with his 21-ball fifty and Markram shifted gears towards the end. Tripathi (71 off 37) and Markram (68 not out) added 94 runs for the third wicket as SRH chased down the total with 13 balls to spare.
