IPL 2022 – Match 13: RCB complete heist and hand RR their first loss

Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) registered a huge win against Rajasthan Royals(RR), who suffered their first loss in the Indian Premier League(IPL) on Tuesday, April 5.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had invited Rajasthan Royals to bat. Jos Buttler was the ket batter for Royals once again with his unbeaten knock of 70 runs off 47 balls. This helped that side to take the score to a defendable total of 169 runs at the expense of 3 wickets in 20 overs.

Buttler strived to score for much of the innings but teed off in the last two overs to take RR close to 170 on what seemed like a sluggish pitch. Shimron Hetmyer, meanwhile, finished the innings off with a score and ended up with a score of 42 off 31. The pair put up an unbeaten 83 off 51 balls for the fourth wicket. Buttler was dropped twice and he ended up playing through the innings.

Coming on to bat RCB looked strong to chase down the target score. Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat gave a great start to the side but they collapsed soon. They lost four wickets in a span of 2 overs piling up concerns. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed, however, played brilliant knocks of 44 and 45 respectively to help his side get back in the game. They ended up putting up 67 runs off 33 balls for the sixth wicket. The pair took the game away from them and RCB ended up getting over the line with five balls in hand.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are set to face Mumbai Indians(MI) on Saturday, April 9 Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, while Rajasthan Royals are set to go up against Lucknow Super Giants(LSG) on Sunday, April 10 at Wankhede Stadium.
