The left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav played a pivotal role in Delhi Capitals'(DC) 44-run win against Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) in the Indian Premier League(IPL) on Sunday, April 10 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. He finished with the incredible figures of 4/35.
Kuldeep Yadav emerges with a brilliant performance
Shreyas Iyer had won the toss and decided to field first. Prithvi Shaw (51) and David Warner (61) got Delhi Capitals to a flying start before the former perished after a quick half-century. Shaw and Warner added 93 runs for the first wicket. Rishabh Pant also perished on 27 against Andre Russell. In the end, Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel added a 49-run stand to help Delhi post 215/5 in 20 overs. They finished the innings in style and took the score past the 200-run mark.
Sunil Narine ended with two wickets while Pat Cummins, Umesh Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy were taken to the cleaners in their 4 overs.
Chasing 216 for a win, KKR stumbled early on in the innings as they soon lost openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane for 18 and 8 runs respectively. However, Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana batted beautifully to help KKR get back in the game.
Rana departed for 30 runs while Shreyas was dismissed after scoring a fifty. It was the masterclass performance of Kuldeep Yadav that helped DC secure the victory. He picked a four-for as Delhi Capitals registered an emphatic 44-run win over table-toppers Kolkata Knight Riders
