Inzamam-ul-Haq hospitalized after suffering a heart-attack

Inzamam-ul-Haq, former Pakistan captain and chief selector, suffered a heart attack on Monday 27 September. The 51-year-old was taken to a hospital in Lahore and has undergone an emergency angioplasty surgery.

Inzamam-ul-Haq’s condition stable at the moment

For the past three days, Inzaman had been complaining of chest pain after which he had to be hospitalized to undergo further treatments. His latest reports revealed a minor heart attack after which he had to go through the surgery.

According to a report in Cricket Pakistan, Inzamam’s agent said that his condition is stable and he is currently under observation of the medical staff.

According to many, Inzamam-ul-Haq is one of the best batsmen who has represented Pakistan at the highest level. His records speak volumes of his talent and abilities. He is one of the few talented batsmen produced by a nation known for giving World cricket quality fast bowlers.

He played a crucial role in Pakistan’s World Cup win in 1992 when he was still a youngster. His quickfire fifty in the semi-finals helped Pakistan beat New Zealand, who were one of the favorites to win the World Cup.

Inzaman went on to score 8830 runs at an average of 49.60 with 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries in 120 Tests. In ODI cricket, the right-hander scored 11,739 runs from 378 games with 10 tons and as many as 83 fifties. Till date, he is the only Pakistan player to score 10,000 runs in the ODI format.

He also served as chief selector of the Pakistan cricket team from 2016-19 which included Pakistan’s famous Champions Trophy win in 2017. Now, the former Pakistan captain runs his own YouTube channel named ‘The Match-winner’.

After the news broke, the entire Cricketing fraternity sent their prayers and regards to Inzi. The voice of Indian cricket, Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter and wrote. “Wishing Inzamam-ul-Haq all the very best, that he recovers completely and remains part of our game for many many years.”
