India vs SA 2nd T20I at Cuttack scarred by allegations of ticket black marketing

The second T20I between India and South Africa has been hit by allegations of black marketing of tickets where reportedly the black marketers were having a field day by making big money by selling tickets online.

As per sources, the black marketers bought match tickets in bulk online and also off the counters by engaging brokers and persons belonging to the labor class. They were then selling the tickets at a high price on the sales websites and even through WhatsApp groups.

A person is entitled to buy only two tickets, but allegedly there were many who bought more than 10 tickets from the website. They were selling gallery No. 2 tickets worth Rs 700 at Rs 5,000. For gallery No. 3, tickets worth Rs 900 they charged over Rs 5,000.

Moreover, the tickets for gallery No. 4 priced at Rs 7,000 were sold for Rs 15,000, sources added. The black marketers are also said to have obtained a huge number of complimentary passes through different mediums, which were sold in the black market.

The total capacity of Barabati Stadium is 44, 234, Odissa Cricket Association (OCA) had made available 29,154 saleable tickets which included 8,000 for affiliated units/ office bearers/ BCCI affiliated units. Around 21,154 tickets were kept for the general public including 9,061 for online sale.

All the 12,093 offline tickets for the general public were sold out on day one even though the OCA had made arrangements for its sale at nine counters over two days.

South Africa dominates India yet again in their home conditions

Coming to the game, South Africa continue their excellent run against India in the Indian conditions as they have taken a 2-0 lead with a comprehensive win at Cuttack. South Africa has lost only 1 game against India in India and is yet to lose a T20I series in the Indian subcontinent.

Wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen starred with a magnificent knock of 81 off 46, smashing 7 boundaries and five sixes. He managed to decimate the Indian bowlers. He was eventually dismissed by Harshal Patel, and then Wayne Parnell fell to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned excellent figures of 4/13 but by then, South Africa had the match in the bag. It was the star of the last match, David Miller, who scored the winning runs with more than an over left.
