Things did not go as planned for Pant in his first match as the captain of India, as he said in the post-match interview that the execution from the bowling department was not right. In the second match, a few changes can be expected to be made in the Indian bowling lineup with pacers such as Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh.

South Africa:

The South African team chased down the score of 212 in the last over, with unbeaten knocks of Van der Dussen (75) and David Miller (64). Though the visitors stumbled in the earlier stages of the chase they pulled off a stunning win over the Men in Blue. Dwaine Pretorius scored a quickfire 29 but his innings was cut short by Harshal Patel in the 6th over of the innings and hence the visitors lost two wickets inside the powerplay in their chase.
