Indian bowlers had troubled the South Africa batters on Day 3 as they scalped the opening pair of Aiden Markram and skipper Dean Elgar. The hosts lost their first wicket early in the chase of 212 runs. Pacer Mohammed Shami removed Aiden Markram on a sharp delivery. Proteas skipper Dean Elgar was removed by Jasprit Bumrah on the last ball of Day 3 after adding 78 runs with Keegan Petersen for the second wicket.

But, Keegan Petersen has been hailed as the hero for South Africa in their pursuit of 212 runs, as the No.3 batter played an impressive knock of 82 runs to put his team in a driver’s seat. South Africa vice-captain Temba Bavuma remained unbeaten along with Rassie van der Dussen.
