As the KKR captain, Gautam Gambhir’s primary focus was Rohit Sharma’s wicket

After Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets on Thursday, Gautam Gambhir has revealed that never felt threatened by anyone except for Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma. He has recently made this revelation in an interview with Sky Sports. Gautam Gambhir recalls that Rohit had given the most nightmares to the Kolkata Knight Riders. The former captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, had led his team to victory twice. Gautam never prepared himself or planned anything specially for other big names in the cricket like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli or even Mahendra Singh Dhoni but he was very cautious about taking on Rohit Sharma.

Gambhir was part of the commentary during the match. A notable performance was displayed by Jasprit Bumrah, Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi. Bumrah caught the Mumbai Indians off-guard when he claimed three wickets. Rahul Tripathi and Venkatesh Iyer made half centuries which propelled their team to victory.

Rohit Sharma was Gautam Gambhir’s focus during the latter’s years of captaincy in KKR

Rohit Sharma has been always received praise for his batting skills and his ability to play all formats of cricket without breaking a sweat. Rohit scored the 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday. He reached 30 until Sunil Narine decided that it was time that the batsman took some rest.

If you see Rohit Sharma, he has gotten heaps of runs against KKR. I have made it very clear as well that in my seven years of captaincy, I never planned against anyone – whether it was Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle or AB de Villiers. All I had to plan in those seven years was against Rohit Sharma,” said Gautam Gambhir.
