Deepak Chahar career
Unlike many other Indian cricketers, Deepak Chahar did not exactly have a great start to his cricketing journey. At the very beginning of his journey, he faced rejection from Greg Chappell, the Director of the Rajasthan Cricket Academy in 2008. That did not dwindle his spirits. He showed what he was capable of when he played for Rajasthan in a match against Hyderabad. He picked up 21 wickets and let Hyderabad walk away from the field wih just 21 scores.
2018 Syed Mushtaq-Ali Trophy was yet another highlight of his career. His performance, got him noticed by Chennai Super Kings who picked him up shortly after that. He was pure fire in the 2018 season. He blossomed into an all-rounder bowler under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was one of the leading wicket takers.
Soon after he was selected for the India A series squad against West Indies A and England Lions. He beat every other bowler to become the bowler with the most wickets to his name.
Depak made his T20I debut in July, 2018. He was replacement for Jasprit Bumrah after he got injured. In the same year, he made his ODI debut. His very first ODI match was against Afganistan. He failed to make a mark at both of these debuts, but he was given another due to his bowling technique and prowess as a bowler. He recieved a call again for the T20I squad during the West Indies tour.
Failing to make an impact during his first international cricketing outings forced him to stay off the field during the 2019 World Cup.
During the 2019 Bangladesh tour, he became the first Indian bowler in history for having a hat-trick in the format.
